Bellwork: Type 1: What does this image say about stereotypes and intolerance that the 9/11 attacks and war caused?

Today you will be part of a council determining the course of action after a terrorist attack on Chicago.  You will be part of the committee to determine why this attack occurred.   Answer the following questions in complete sentences to create an explanation of why terrorist attacks happen and what can be done to stop them.

If you are done early, go to this website.  CBS News has pictures from Hurricane Sandy on here.  View some of the pictures of destruction and answer the following questions.

1) Use a specific picture from the article.  Insert the image into your Word document if you can, otherwise, just say what number the image is.  What damage do you see?  What caused the damage?

2) What do you think could have been done to prevent this damage before the storm?  How do you think New York City and the federal government could have been better prepared for this incident?
3) What is one thing you think the government SHOULD do next time an incident like this seems imminent?
