Bellwork: Analyze the following quote.  What is it saying is the problems with American politics?  What solution is it offering? How does it tie into technology?

In the end, technology offers us the only way out of politics. And if we
allow science to become politicized, then we are lost. We will enter the
Internet version of the dark ages, an era of shifting fears and wild
prejudices, transmitted to people who don’t know any better.
–Michael Crichton

Today we had our presentations from Table 6 on the advancements of technology.  We discussed how social media has been used by the Presidential candidates in the current and during the 2008 elections.

Homework: After viewing the Facebook pages of former Governor Romney and President Obama, compose a tweet to each candidate responding to what you saw on the webpage.  Make sure it focuses on something you saw, and not just a pointless statement of support or resentment for the men.

After examining the video clip, we worked on creating a petition for Loy Norrix to use Green energy.  Students had to break down what the problems were with fossil fuel based energy, and what alternative they though would be best to change this problem.  The sample petition and the assignment are below.
